Driven by a great passion for wine and for the work of the artisan “vignaiolo” and with a degree in agriculture and five years of experience working at Michele Satta’s winery, Fabio Motta embarked on his own journey into the world of winemaking. Certified organically grown grapes, native yeast fermented, rooted firmly in the history of the Maremma and Bolgheri, Fabio Motta makes mostly reds from Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah.
These are not monolithic new world style wines using Bordeaux varieties but nuanced Italian versions with deep flavors of the surrounding macchia and acidity giving them a place at the dinner table. One of the new generation of winemakers of the Maremma, Fabio and his family are continuing to add to the legacy started by his father-in-law and mentor, Michele Satta.
